GIRL
Waking up from sleep, she stared at the ceiling as though searching for answers. Thoughts of those moments she shared with him before this sudden drift in their relationship rushed through her mind in torrents. Tears rushed to her eyes, struggling to break free while she begged them to stop.
She was amazed at the change which had occurred in
the space of three months. How did they drift apart? Did she offend him that
much? Did he really mean it when he said he didn’t resent her? Then why was
this distance growing between them?
Longing for a miracle, she picked up her phone
hoping to see a call from him or maybe even a message, something to remind her that
he thought about and still cared deeply for her. While going about the day’s
activities, her thoughts were glued to HIM. She couldn’t describe this feeling
of weakness.
Two beeps from the phone reminded her that her
battery was almost empty. She couldn’t risk her phone being off. What if he
called at that point? Charging the phone with the rechargeable fan, she kept
hearing her phone ring and would run off to pick the call, just to see that the
phone wasn’t even ringing.
It was all in Girl’s head…he wasn’t going to call.
The sudden realisation led her to thinking it just might be the end of the road
for them. This needed to stop.
